A line to provide care without depending on the Gather platform

This role is not technical support (best delegated to Gather) though it may occasionally involve addressing simple technical issues to nudge someone over the hump.

Initially this role covers dynamics around the effort to “keep in touch” as a community online and will evolve into the eventual managing of boundaries as we get closer and closer together.

Long-term, this role provides community support on and off the dance floor, offline and online, during and outside events, across all platforms, mediums, and channels.

This is an opportunity to be a hotline and offer care for peeps who may have lost sight of the magic of being in Gather for all kinds of reasons.

A goal might be to listen for their intentions around community and help them make a choice:

  1. is it more empowering to take the steps required to get into Gather? or
  2. is it more empowering to put Gather down and just let whatever they are experiencing be?

Of course, there may be a few ole skool folks who want to chat over voice and say hello. These chats will be entertained (ie. nobody is ignored!) - and such chats are triaged on a case by case basis as the intention of this care role is to return into Gather and be with the community.

This role may need to disengage from Gather when someone calls the hotline and would like support over voice.

Once the call is complete, this role returns to Gather and is free to mingle listening for others who may seek care in the space (as the Fireside care team defines)
